The Nanaimo Rhododendron Society (NRS) was established in September 1992. It is affiliated with the American Rhododendron Society, and is one of seven chapters in British Columbia, including four others on Vancouver Island and two more in the Lower Mainland. Please see: All about us:

The purpose of the Society is to introduce members and the public to rhododendrons through meetings, garden tours, and flower shows and to provide an opportunity to meet people with similar interests. Our regular meeting is at Beban Park, (2300 Bowen Road), in Nanaimo. Please apply for your membership at our next regular meeting.

JOIN US AT OUR EXCITING NEXT EVENTS:

New date: Sunday, the 28th of April 2024 – 2 pm to 5 pm – Members only open garden at a very unique woodland and beach setting at the Lightburn residence at 1489 Bay drive, in Nanoose, BC. Street parking only.

Saturday, the 4th of May 2024 – 3 pm to 5 pm – Members only open garden at Nanaimo’s charming inner City  garden, the Lynne Lepin residence, at 351 Milton Street, Nanaimo, BC. Street parking only. Please wear your NRS name tag. 

9th of May 2024  -7:30 pm – regular meeting at Beban Recreation Centre, 2300 Bowen Rd., Nanaimo. Presentation on the “Plans for Milner Rhododendron Expansion” with Geoff Ball and Jim Cadwaladr.

11th of May 2024 – 10:00 am – 2:00 pm – Saturday prior to Mother’s Day – Nanaimo Rhododendron Society’s Truss Show and Plant Sale – 2300 Bowen Road, Nanaimo, Beban Park Centennial building – Vendors and growers from all over that specialize in rhododendrons, unique and interesting perennials, alpine and woodland plants, bulbs, seeds and much more! Free admission. 

13th of May 2024 – 9:00 am to noon – Hailey Grove work party at Bowen Park in Nanaimo – parking at the tennis courts. Weather permitting! Bring good cheer, your gardening gloves and a snack. The City will provide gardening tools. Hope to see you there!  

22nd of June 2024 – End of Year Party on Saturday, June 22nd at Rea and Ron Sutton’s lavish place at 7310 Cougar Smith Rd., Fanny Bay, BC! See you there! 

July & August – happy summer time!
